Recently graduated master brewer Jérôme Hatt opens his first brewery, Brasserie du Canon, in Strasbourg.

This is part of the Alsace region in north-east France. The area is famous for its location as it has a strong, rich gastronomy and brewing heritage.

High quality Strisselspalt hops – the caviar of hops unique to Alsace – are used for the first time by Bière brew masters.

The hops’ unique aroma creates a distinctive and refined taste.

1664 Bière arrives in Britain

1664 Bière is brought into Britain for the first time ahead of celebrations for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953 to the throne of the United Kingdom.

This led to it being imported to 68 other countries around the world!

LA PREMIÈRE BIÈRE

1664 Bière wins the International Brewing Award’s Gold medal two years running, all down to delivering the Taste Suprême.

1664 Bière enters the CMBC UK portfolio creating scale play in mainstream premium lager.
